Cut and paste from my post at Sail Simulator Forums:
Quote:
Boats should not be picked because of personal likes dislikes buit rather on the different handling and feel of a boat or its designed purpose.

A big keel boat for fleetracing: TP52, Mum 30, Bavaria basically are all yachts for offshore racing more or less long distance.

TP52, Mum 30 would just be faster and more exciting.

So in between Bavaria 36 and VOR 70... there are quite some slots left and following the development at the Americas Cup theres even room for topping the VOR 70

RC44; was designed as a big daysailor with high manouvrability for tactical races in a professional matchracing and fleetracing cirquite.

AC 45: winged catamaran for Americas Cup training and experience to be used in a professional matchracing, fleetracing series.

AC 72: Winged catamaran for Americasscup 35 (box rule, not much kown yet but looking at the AC 45 this may turn out to be a widow maker, like the VOR 70 it may be not a matter of speed but a matter of not breaking the boat)

AC 70: 70 feet keel boat box rule class for Americas cup up til americas cup 32.

Skutsje: traditional dutch sideboarder up to 30 BRT (very open box rule) used for highly competative racing drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators yearly.

Regenboog: Traditional Dutch keelboat used and known for team racing since 1931

ORMA Class: 60 ft Multihull open class eg, Route du Ruhm

IMOCA Class: 60 ft monohull open class eg. World Race

While at it,
all boats should have minimum 50% transparancy on sails
individulisation and sharing of personalised custom skins should be made possible... aka game must at a minimum be able to handle 16 different (maximum number of boats in online races through central server) skins for each boat.

As topping on the cake, and to have all this beauty on full display... how about replays saved in a transferable file fomat with a free moveable camera angle so players can share their best moments, juries can evaluate their worst moments and the rest of the world can enjoy it all on youtube?

If need be i rather see a Sail Simulator 6.xx with custom skins and replays then a boat set 2.. i'ld get both when available :)

Hey Theo

I just received a letter from stentec according my ideas how to improve the game and how they could save money by making us customers happy ;)

They said Sailsim 6 will have a rule system and maybe windshifts. Furthermore a J24 could also be part of it ( that was the only boat I adviced them to include, so all types are in the game, I personally prefer windshifts than 100000 boats).

So we will have to wait for SS6 and will have to buy it to get these features.

regards
