Hi - I'm a new member and new to SS so I might be missing a few tricks. Can anyone help me get the cunningham and downhaul to work on the Bavaria please? I seem to have everything else up and running.

Hello and welcome :)

Acutally I don´t use downhaul or cunningham on the bavaria nor on any other boat, but Istill win often ;)

My bavaria secret is a manual mainsail trim and a semimanual ( only after tacking till the next tack) jib. if you open them as much as possible, that means till they flatter, you can gain up to 0,5kts more VMG.

If nobody uses downhaul, cunningham, traveler etc...

Im' sure that using them may give you a decisive advantage over those that do not.

At high wind-speeds you may try for some twist in your main, aka traveler to windward, ease the downhaul.

You may also want to check on the slot between jib and main..

Thanks for your help. Not quite ready to start racing but hope to do so at some point.
